HR Generalist – Microsoft | MEA Region
Introduction
Microsoft is hiring an HR Generalist for the MEA Region to support MCC across Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco, Bahrain, and Oman, reporting directly to the HR Director – Middle East and Africa. This high-impact GEO role enables deep collaboration with diverse HR teams, covering both strategic and hands-on HR initiatives across multiple countries. The position delivers full-circle HR exposure, empowering professionals to build broad capabilities and elevate their career trajectory. Responsibilities
HR Community Leadership
- Partners with leadership teams to drive a One Microsoft approach.
- Builds strong relationships and provides coaching to leaders.
- Ensures clarity and consistency across People Priorities by business or country.
- Collaborates across HR teams to ensure seamless delivery of HR services (onboarding, offboarding, reporting).
- Participates in HR governance with HRBPs, HR Directors, and COEs.
- Supports teams including HR budget management.
- Champions leadership and customer-first culture.
HR Governance
- Facilitates geography/client governance committees.
- Ensures alignment of HR across stakeholder businesses.
- Maintains accurate HR information including mobility, immigration, and offer governance.
- Promotes policy compliance and supports enhancements to HR processes.
- Coordinates with stakeholders: Finance, Payroll, Procurement, Corporate, CELA.
Statutory Accountability
- Maintains awareness of labor laws, regulations, GDPR, and documentation requirements.
- Localizes policies to meet legal requirements.
- Ensures compliance across HR suppliers and business units.
- Engages with worker councils and union representatives as applicable.
- Manages HR risks and represents HR in Compliance Governance Committee.
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Advocates for employees by focusing on real employee experience across all touchpoints.
- Aligns with internal communications on messaging.
- Designs strategies to improve engagement and employee culture.
- Supports ERGs and workplace initiatives.
- Contributes to ROI on employee experience programs and promotes inclusion.
External Impact
- Represents Microsoft in community events and HR networks (IWD, DigiGirlz, HR events).
- Engages external HR communities to influence future-of-work policies.
- Leverages social and professional media to enhance Microsoft’s brand presence.
Projects, Programs & Initiatives
- Collaborates with peers to execute or lead HR projects and COE initiatives.
- Supports acquisitions, talent needs, and benefit program updates.
- Develops project plans and responds to emerging requirements.
Crisis Management & Disaster Recovery
- Supports the leadership team in designing crisis management strategies.
- Activates EAP and employee well-being programs during crises.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Legal, Business, Psychology, or related field.
- 5+ years of HR or related experience (hiring, training, performance management).
- Strong command of written, reading, and conversational Arabic.
- Strong command of written, reading, and conversational English.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in HR, Legal, Business, Psychology, or related field.
