🎯 Key Responsibilities of the Role
As Deputy Head of Corporate Services, you will have a wide range of responsibilities across multiple functions:
1. Estates Management
- Lead the Embassy’s Estates Team and oversee the local estates strategy.
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations.
- Manage a significant Estates budget effectively.
- Chair the Health & Safety Committee and address liability and risk issues.
- Develop performance targets and quarterly reports.
2. Procurement & Contract Management
- Implement best practice procurement policies in line with FCDO standards.
- Develop an embassy-wide contract management approach.
- Ensure contracts deliver improved value for money and quality of service.
- Conduct workshops to build procurement and contract management capabilities.
3. Human Resources (HR)
- Oversee HR operations, including pay, benefits, and employee performance.
- Lead on a new People Strategy for staff.
- Manage complex labour law issues and act as a point of contact for staff associations.
- Support induction, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives.
4. Ambassador’s Residence & Protocol
- Ensure efficient operations of the Ambassador’s Residence.
- Oversee procurement, finance, and compliance with FCDO regulations.
- Manage inventories and high-value assets.
5. Crisis & Emergency Planning
- Actively participate in contingency planning and emergency responses.
- Deputise for the G7 UKB Management Counsellor when required.
